SILVER AND GOLD I was born in the city, they call the big smoke I don’t remember much til I was four years old That’s when my mother and my father, went their separate ways It’s the year I started school, didn’t like it from the very first day We grew up in the country, later by the sea Spent our days riding horses, bicycles bare feet We used to watch those mountain fires burn from that old trampoline We used to watch those mountain fires burn from that old trampoline We didn’t always need to know which train we’re getting on Didn’t always need to ride home the same old road We had everything we wanted, no need for silver and gold We built a cubby house, high up in the tree Camp out on the weekends til it blew down in the wind And when that rain fell we’d run down to the creek collect tadpoles with our hands When that rain fell we’d run down to the creek collect tadpoles with our hands We didn’t always need to know which train we’re getting on Didn’t always need to ride home the same old road We had everything we wanted, no need for silver and gold When the trouble came to our door When the cops they’re standing on the porch We were quick on our feet, we were young and naive Never knew things were harder than they seemed We never knew things were harder than they seemed My mother worked hard every day she did her very best Visit my dad in the holidays in a dusty town out west And he took my twenty dollars, to buy some milk and bread He came home with a carton of beer and a pack of cigarettes We didn’t always need to know which train we’re getting on Didn’t always need to ride home the same old road We had everything we wanted, no need for silver and gold

THIS HEART OF MINE When darkness is upon me won’t you walk by my side Cause I’ve built these walls so high and I’m scared to look inside I learned from my father, to have a bag always packed To have one foot out the door, never look back I’m not gonna leave Just have patience with me Its gonna take time To mend this heart of mine Your love for me is like an open book, so easy to read My loves like a diary that’s locked and I’ve thrown away the key I’m ready to break it open now, I’m read to see I’m gonna tear out those pages, that no longer serve me I’m not gonna leave Just have patience with me Its gonna take time To mend this heart of mine I will hold you, til our hair turns grey til there’s nothing left to say And I will find you, when the road’s not straight When it turns around, when you lose your way I will hold you til our hair turns grey til our dying day when there’s nothing left to say I will love you, I will love you I’m not gonna leave I’m not gonna leave Its gonna take time To mend this heart of mine When darkness is upon me wont you walk by my side

Rollin Wheel 04:26
ROLLIN WHEEL His heart left hers a long time ago His body belongs now to the woman down the road His wife lies alone in a bed so cold And he comes home late, if he comes home at all She asks where he’s been, “at the bar” There’ll be a fist through the wall if she asks anymore And he smells like red wine and he takes like cheating She holds her breath and goes on believing him And wonders where he went, that man she first met From the depths of her heart she says Save your last words There’s a train coming Won’t you be my rollin wheel You see I’ve got all these suitcases to carry Won’t you be my rollin wheel She bore their first child, little did she know That her husband was a father to the boy down the road He left that woman, the years went on by Three kids now and a promise forever built on a lie She wonders where he went, that man she first met From the depths of her heart she says Save your last words There’s a train coming Wont you be my rollin wheel You see I’ve got all these suitcases to carry Wont you be my rollin wheel She asked him to leave, held open the door He packed his suitcase put a fist through the wall She didn’t care where he was going, she didn’t need to know He made his way back to the woman down the road Save your last words There’s a train coming I can be my rollin wheel You see I’ve got all these suitcases to carry I can be my rollin wheel

WHEN YOU LEAVE Flew in yesterday, on a plane to see you And I prayed to god I’d hold your hand one more time Driving through these old towns, remembering When you were my lover, when you were my man And you said I was the sweetest thing you’d ever seen Take my love, take it all Cause I’ve got time to make some more Wear my heart on your sleeve Take it with you when you leave When we were together you were building houses Mansions by the beach I’d bring you lunch, we’d swim in the ocean Share our love of the sea You were my teacher, together we learned And I loved you through and through My feet were free to roam whenever they wanted to And you said I was the sweetest thing you’d ever seen Take my love, take it all Cause I’ve got time to make some more Wear my heart on your sleeve Take it with you, when you leave I walked that hallway to your door With tears running down my face And your wife like an angel held up her hand And she wiped my tears away Sunflowers and gerberas filled each corner of your room You held me close, my heart was sinking, You’re leaving this world too soon Take my love, take it all Cause I’ve got time to make some more Wear my heart on your sleeve Take it with you, when you leave

TIL NIGHT MEETS THE SUN The winds are getting colder now, my hairs turning grey Though I’m getting older it seems I’ve no wiser words to say I keep pushing love away, when I could be pulling it near Is that why I’m here to face my fears The lines on my face and growing like roots through the soil And I’m trying to make sense of this life, this mess, before I get too old I’ve weathered the storms, I’ve pulled out my thorns, still there’s more And I feel I’m facing this on my own I feel I’m facing this on my own When lightning strikes these stormy seas I sail this boat til the shore I reach When I am lost, broken down I keep a light on inside til night meets the sun Truth hides in darkness, love waits in the light Sometimes I want to run like a bullet from a gun Don’t want to stand here and fight But my feet get too tired and this heart wants to stay and feel the rain Through rain I’ll grow, I’ll find my way Through rain I’ll grow, I’ll find my way When lightning strikes these stormy seas I sail this boat til the shore I reach When I am lost, broken down I keep a light on inside til night meets the sun If I fall into the water No one can save me now I’ll ride the waves that hold me down and Find my way, find that sun When lightning strikes these stormy seas I sail this boat til the shore I reach When I am lost, broken down I keep a light on inside til night meets the sun

about

Till Night Meets The Sun was written across two years and moves through tales of her childhood, relationship between mother and father and losing her partner. The album is sincerely written and a genuine introduction into an upcoming folk talent. Produced by Glen Hannah (Felicity Urquhart, Chasing Bailey, Kim Cheshire), mixed and mastered by Jeff McCormack (Kasey Chambers, Shane Nicholson).

Loren won the 2014 Telstra Road to Discovery program, Australia's most authentic grassroots talent development program for singer/songwriters. The win enabled Loren to record 'Til Night Meets The Sun', produced by Glen Hannah and will also saw her perform at The Americana Festival in Nashville in late 2015.
